Witness for Christ

1 - You cannot stand in the presence of God because of your sin; the penalty of which is death.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2 NIV)

They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. (Ephesians 4:18 NIV)

Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (James 1:15 NIV)

2 - God provided the remedy in the person of Jesus Christ. His blood shed on the cross atones once and for all for your sin and His resurrection conquers death.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 NIV)

3 - Salvation is by believing God's Word (the Bible) and the testimony of Jesus Christ; believing that his unique birth, his unique life, his unique message, his unique death and his unique resurrection all point to the fact that he is exactly who he claims to be : the Son of God.

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die" (John 11:25-26 NIV)

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NIV)

4 - Proclaim aloud your willingness to receive Jesus Christ's mediation and be reconciled to God - the creator of the universe.

If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:910 NIV)

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20 NIV)

To experience his love and forgiveness and receive eternal life you must receive Jesus Christ as God's sacrifice for your sin and invite him to come into your life by faith. If this is the desire of your heart this is a suggested prayer :

Lord Jesus I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. I open the door of my life and receive you as Saviour and Lord. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.

If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart and you were sincere about it you will be a changed person. You will know the difference - people around you will sense it. So equip yourself for the challenges to come.
